In fiscal year 2021 (September 2021 – September 2022), more than 700 DFC coalitions across the United States received funding. In 2019, 1 in 5 Americans lived in a community with a DFC-funded coalition. Since 2005, 51% of the U.S. population has lived in a community with a DFC coalition. The Real Cost Campaign
FDA’s award-winning public education campaign, “The Real Cost,” continues to prevent youth from tobacco initiation and use. “The Real Cost” launched in 2014 with cigarette prevention messaging using a robust paid media strategy to effectively reach teens and change their tobacco-related knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. The campaign expanded to include smokeless tobacco messaging in 2016, and FDA began prioritizing e-cigarette messaging in 2017 due to high usage rates among youth.

QHS Wildcats Cheer Team Places 2nd in the Spirit of Hope Competition!
The Spirit of Hope Challenge 2022 was held at Expo NM Tingley Coliseum on February 5th 2022. There was a miscount with the scores during the competition and after this was corrected QHS was awarded 2nd place! Three of the members of the QHS Cheer team, Angelica Lovato, Ashlynn Rael and Alianna (AKA The BooBoo) Gonzalez are also active in the Active8 Youth Coalition of Vida Del Norte. Vida Del Norte wants to give a shout out to the entire QHS Cheer team to congratulate them for their remarkable accomplishments. The hard work that the cheer team puts in to practicing, competitions and their studies provides a great example for their peers and Vida Del Norte wants to acknowledge how remarkable this is. Keep up the good work QHS Cheer!
