Vida Del Norte’s youth Active8 are honoring Children’s Mental health day by wearing green ribbons and You Matter Semicolon t-shirts.
73.8% of children 3-17 suffer from anxiety and depression that’s 3 of every 4 kids…..Data shows that children who have been diagnosed are more likely to use substances.
“A semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you and the sentence is your life,” explained the late Amy Bleuel, founder of Project Semicolon, an organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide.
The message is a hopeful one to the countless people affected by depression, mental illness, and self harm.
